Elders request follow-up; GMRC complies

February 19, 2010 - It is important for GMRC to continue to seek guidance and knowledge from our Elders. In doing so strengthens the relationships with our communities and also within them.

On Friday February 12th, GMRC held its follow-up meeting for the Elders Gathering previously held on January 14th. The comments, concerns, and ideas of the Elders at the initial meeting, were compiled into a report and presented back to the Elders by Ann Gladue-Buffalo, GMRC’s Chief Executive Assistant.

Victoria Metallic presented the P.L.A.M.U. project, to The Elders, for review and guidance, before taking the presentation to the CASTS Conference in Ottawa.

A potluck lunch included shrimp, beef stew and salmon soup with desert.

We look forward to many more successful gatherings, such as this one, and would like to thank all the Elders who attended.
