April 22, 2008- For this year's Earth Day, the Gespe'gewaq Mi'gmaq Resource Council was honored to be invited to the SSHS to give a presentation. There was an audience of 11 people who were eager to learn more about the GMRC organization and also to increase their awareness of environmental issues.

We began by showing a short introductory video about GMRC and followed with a discussion period on environmental issues. The students also learned of the many different careers in the environmental field and also learned of the ever-increasing demand for skills in environment-related work.
